Jeans for Genes Day
Info, activity: bringing everyone together children will be doing activities with their friends, circle time, fund raising, making and selling cakes. Donation £1.00

Info, Activity; children to bring in veg or fruit even canned food for display and to taste with their friends 

OCTOBER

World Animal Day
Info, activity: a day to celebrate animals, children will be making masks, doing role plays – singing and dancing, dressing up in their favourite animal costume

National fire safety week
Info, Activity; children to be prepared for an emergency fire drill. Staff will talk about fire safety, reading books and activities to stay safe.

Black History Month( multicultural month)
Info, Activity; Black History Month is a month set aside to learn, honour, and celebrate the achievements of black men and women throughout history. Children will be making flags, tasting different Caribbean food and many more fun activities.

World Space Week
Info, Activity: World Science Week is to encourage children to create experiments using different resources. Parents to encourage their child to bring plastic resources from home. Visit to think tank (tbc)

The Big Draw
Info, Activity;the big draw is a month long activity where we will be encouraging parents and children to work alongside staff using different resources to create marks, self-portraits, focus drawing and many more.

The Big Collage
Info, Activity; children will be taking a big walk through the jewellery quarter collecting leaves, twigs, stones etc to create a collage.

Spooky Week
Info,Activity; children will be doing activities around Halloween, making monster handprints, sticking and gluing activities

Diwali
Info,activity;Diwali is the celebration of lights for Sikhism. Children will be making Divas (candle holders), Diwali cards, and reading books on the festival of lights

Halloween Party
Info,Activity; children, Parents and Staff are all welcome to join in with our Halloween Party at Sans Day Nursery enjoy eating snacks, making jelly, dancing Halloween cakes etc Best dresser will win a surprise. Donation £1.00

NOVEMBER

Bonfire Night
Info,Activity; children will be making rockets, reading books about bonfire night and the safety around fireworks. Painting firework displays using potatoes and handprints.

Workshop (world nursery rhyme week)
Info,Activity: staff members in all rooms will be setting up a workshop all week for parents to come and join in with some fun activities. Circle time singing our nursery children’s favourite nursery rhymes.

Remembrance Day
Info, Activity; Remembrance Day (also known as Poppy Day) we will be selling poppies for children and parents, collecting resources to make a big poppy. Talking to older children about Remembrance Day

Anti-Bullying Week

Info,Activity: staff will be talking to children about the nursery rules, asking them questions sending a clear and positive message that bullying is neither acceptable or inevitable in our nursery and communities

Children in need
Info, Activity: Parents and children are welcome to bake different cakes to bring into nursery for a bake off sale to fund raise for charity. Other activities will also be taken place, e.g decorating Pudsey bear. Donation £1.00

Road Safety Week
Info, Activity: Staff will be doing role play activities outdoor based on Road Safety. Children can bring in their bikes to drive safely around in the garden, Parents can produce a road safety poster with their child for display.

St Andrews Day
Info, Activity; Saint Andrew is the patron saint of Scotland. To celebrate, children will be making and decorating dragons and the Scotland flag.
